Now that IV Korps is completed - and exactly a year after the Prussian project launched - I wanted to indulge in a quick report on the overall project. I started this endeavour three years ago with the goal to paint the entire order of battle of the battle of Waterloo. I am not roughly half-way through this mission.
The Anglo-Dutch army is completed with a total of 3,105 figures painted. This force is composed of 64 command bases leading 58 line battalions, 20 light battalions, 10 heavy cavalry regiments, 21 light cavalry regiments, and 25 artillery batteries. This took two years.
The Prussian IV Korps - representing the bulk of the Prussians on the field - is completed with a total of 1,727 figures painted. This force is composed of 36 command bases leading 34 line battalions, 1 heavy cavalry regiment, 8 light cavalry regiments, and 12 artillery batteries. This took one year.
Still remaining ahead are the partial elements of I and II Korps that made it onto the field. That represents another 894 figures to be painted, including 27 command bases leading 27 line battalions, 1 light battalion, 4 heavy cavalry regiments, 11 light cavalry regiments, and 4 artillery batteries. I hope to get this done by mid next year.
Afterwards we have the French - the largest of the three contingents. I am still purchasing items for this force, but expect it to come in around 3,500-4,000 figures. If I really cover every unit, that would be 118 command bases leading 90 line battalions, 22 light battalions, 19 heavy cavalry regiments, 21 light cavalry regiments, and 34 artillery batteries. Based on historical momentum, this feels like a 3 year projects.
I greatly appreciate all your support on the journey so far. Here is to another 3-4 years to get this done
