Would some random European wheeled mid/late 16th century one with wheels work as well?

Btw, really great stuff on your site - expect an order soon.  ;)

Thanks  :)

Yes, at a pinch I suppose some unscrupulous captain would be willing to sell a few cannon at the right price  :D

Thanks a lot - appreciate it!

Here are my first two Perry Ikko-Ikki - super fun to paint! I've converted a bunch more too look more menacing and rag-tag with bits of scavenged armor and headgear for that "pirate" feeling, and they're at the painting station atm so stay tuned for more soon!  :D

Thanks, really appreciate it!

Thanks! Did the same with my 16th century Irish kern, I think you'd get bruised now and then running around like that, right?  lol

Very nice indeed.  With bare legs and feet, and mismatched armor and equipment they have an Ikko-Ikki look.

Very nice, they look great.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Thanks a lot - really appreciate it!

I've finished three more ikko-ikki/wako minis - all Perry sculpts with some simple head swaps. I'm currently working on three more (including a "captain" sporting an eye patch - yahaharr....) and I've also included a couple of detailed shots of the ikko-ikki/wako previously shown:

Metternich has used some of the same sculpts to beef-up the Bandit buntai for Ronin.

It's time for yet another question - which Clan unit/units, if any, bearing red armor took part in the internal fighting in Japan as well as the invasions of Korea?

EDIT: Found some refrence myself, Mori Clan it is!

My understanding is there tended not to be a lot of colour standardisation in Sengoku clan armies. Occasionally some retinues might share tassel colours on lamellar armour pieces, but visual depictions generally suggest no standardisation in underclothes. So you could probably get away with just about any clan that fought in both Japan and Korea and just give them a particular sub-retinue with red tassels.

I believe that the most famous "red coats" (the Ii) did not participate.  That said, any individual samurai wore what his pocket would bear (but the Mon would be his clan's).
