After a break of 6 years, we resume the adventures of the Perilous Island of Pulp Alley, after
the Hidalgo Fire and
the Final Flight, we find our heroes robbing the warehouse of the customs of Athens in search of a package that would allow to find the trace of Lord Darrow.
On one side, the Royal Archeological Society led by Indiana Jones against Hydra led by Red Skull.
On the side of the archaeologists, we have Indiana Jones assisted by Rick O'Connell, Adèle Blanc Sec, Sir Howard Carter, Lord Henshingly Croft and the bulldog Winston. On the Nazi side, the team is led by Red Skull assisted by Major Maxim, the archaeologist Belloq, the big guys Hell-Mut, Zieg-Fried and the wolfhound Adolphe.
The warehouse is guarded and nobody knows exactly where the package is. Maybe some information could be found in a register kept near the counters, or maybe we could interrogate an official who does the nightly inventory of the warehouse... unless we shake up one of the guards a bit...
The customs warehouse, with the offices on the floor
A vast warehouse filled with boxes and parcels
The part of the offices open to the public, with its counters and waiting room.
The part of the offices that is not accessible to the public with the office of the head of department.
The vault room
Indiana Jones and one of the first to enter the warehouse...
It is Red Skull, accompanied by the night guard, who manages to recover the package in the vault...
Indiana and Rick find an old relic that they know well...
After 6 turns, explosions resound in the warehouse and everyone runs away....
In the end, Hydra win the game because they got the package, but it's a Pyrrhic victory because, due to redundant calamitous dice rolls (yes, it seems to be a bit of a constant for me...) all the Hydra team has been decimated, leaving only Red Skull and Major Maxim, while the archaeologist team gets out of the game without any injuries...
The parcel contains a strange statuette and several photographs but without more explanations. The only clue is the place from where the package was mailed: the port of Soerabaja in Dutch Indonesia... Our next step.
We always have as much pleasure to play Pulp Alley whose rules are really original and turn out quite well. That said, as it was a bit of a replay, the rules were followed in a somewhat random way and we made several mistakes that we will of course not make again at our next game...
