Fathers day Dan Dare bootleg
« on: 19 June 2023, 04:59:06 PM »
My dad is a fan of dan dare, but getting ahold of old dan dare merchandise is rather difficult (read expensive!)

So this year for fathers day I decided to do the next best thing and bootleg some dan dare goodies.

I sculpted up a 54mm dan dare miniature in an oldschool style, then gave it a britains style gloss paintjob. Finally I knocked up some pretend packaging and a bit of blurb text and voila! fresh from the 60's, it's the pilot of the future!

Awesome, that's a brilliant job, always enjoyed reading the Dan Dare stories in old Eagle annuals.

Irregular Miniatures have a nice Dan Dare figure in their 42mm Retro Scifi range.

Yours looks very good.

That's just great!  :-*

Your sculpting is excellent and the photoshop work on the packaging is also ace. Everything really looks the part!

I've done some faux packaging for gifts in the past myself, and it's always great fun. Labour intensive, but great fun  8)

How was it received?
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

No photoshop involved, just a 10 minute mess around on Microsoft publisher.

It was well received - The pilot of the future now has price of place between pop eye and some 1960's britains soldiers.
