Galactic Heroes 'Star Wars' first game

A Stormtrooper squad begins its patrol of a war-torn spaceport, looking for rebels and other scum

Success! I was telling one of our Sunday evening gamers about all the cool threads on LAF using Galactic Heroes for Star Wars games. I confided that it really got me inspired, but I don't have any figures for it.  My friend Keith took the bait and set up a game this past Sunday using his Wizards of the Coast pre-painted Star Wars figures.

Our game looked nothing like the amazing spectacles that Malamute and OshiroModels are putting on. Nevertheless, we had a good time, laughed when folks repeatedly missed with blasters and cheered when Stormtrooper armor actually deflected a hit ("First time in cinematic history!"). It was a good time. I took some pics and wrote up a tongue-in-cheek report from the perspective of my fairly successful Rebel squad.

That looks like excellent fun, I shall have to get a copy of Galactic Heroes for when I try and push Star Wars games on others (always happy to have a range of good rules to choose from).

Its a great game and it captures the cinematic effect of the movies very well.

I'd recommend getting the 'A Distant Galaxy' character cards for Galactic Heroes too. They're useful for allowing more well known characters to make an appearance.
