These look good - and the many suggestions of figures to use is great to see. I’m planning on doing AWT in 10mm as I already have lots of WWI figures painted in this scale, but it is really helpful to see what could be used in 28mm as inspiration.

These look great.

This is all very interesting.

I have SCW Anarchists & International Brigade types  which should pass for American Volunteers while I have a think what direction I'd like to go.

Cultists galore too.

I've also brought these with me for a rendezvous/good old fashioned exchange with a friend this evening.

This looks interesting. Does anyone sell plastic sprues of WW1 weapons?
He that trades Liberty for Security will soon find that he has neither.

Hi good morning everyone. Just as sneak preview of the incoming book can you summary or list which nations will be present on the book? And more or less types of units? Each “unit” how many miniatures has? Thanks we are starting to search everywhere for miniatures, metal, plastic or STLS. But we are not sure what to buy. Thanks!

Welcome on board Hijodecain - if you read back up this thread (and the linked Northstar pages) there is good info on the size of forces. There isn’t as much detail on the nationalities involved, but from what there is, it seems pretty broad. I’m liking the idea of being able to use SCW figures for interventionist forces as well. Feels you have a lot of flexibility with the alt-history.

Thank you for the welcome!

From the info on this thread, from the news and offer packs on North Star, his newsletter and social media answer by NS community managers, I can see Russian, French, German and British. But I don’t know if there are more nations covered by the book. Also about units I can see cavalry, infantry, tanks and machine guns, but they also said factions are asymmetrical so maybe not all nations get all the options. This is why if possible I would like to know what to look for or buy.

Another thing, Wargames Atlantic have 3 plastic boxes. Is there any news if there are going to be more boxes in a near future? Anyone knows about any online shop within EU (to do not pay customs) with stock of French and British?

Also I would like to apologize if my English is not good, since it is not my mother tongue. I can sound rude at some times and it is not my intention.

Cheers!
David.

Factions include The British Empire, German Empire, Russian Empire and French Republic. There are also Freikorps and American Volunteer Legions of various allegiance to round things out.

In terms of what units are available, every faction can take the basics of infantry sections, lancers and machine gun crews, though on infantry sections there are slightly different upgrades available, depending on the faction you choose. Tank wise, the factions can recruit the tanks which they actually used - so no tanks for the Russians or Americans (I know the US used tanks, particularly French ones, but this is not the US army, it’s volunteer organisations!). That said, each faction can recruit armoured cars, so everyone can access armour.

If you’re looking to start a collection for the game, men with rifles or men on horses with a lance are a good place to start! Each infantry section is 8 men, cavalry are 4 man.

As for wargames Atlantic stuff, I’m afraid I don’t know, however a Russian kit is definitely in the works

Been seeing the adverts for this game for a while now, so I plumped for the book the day the preorder campaign was launched. I've already ordered a box each of the Germans and British from Wargames Atlantic, which ought to be enough for me to fill out the formations. However, I also ordered a blister of the British cavalry officers and dismounted cavalry, with an eye towards creating elements of my grandfather's old regiment, 2CMR. Right now, a mounted officer and bugler with a half dozen footsloggers is what I have, but I need to start somewhere.

Does the game have scope for creating characters, and such?

Sounds like it’s going to be a fun force and starting out with Infantry is the best choice for the developing your patrol with more unusual options.

The game does not have named characters, all captains are basically user generated. There are lists of special equipment options which captains and other command models can take, they can choose from a stable of different “orders” and they can pick a unique additional trait themed around the zodiac as well. Normal captains are supplemented by alternate captain options which are specific to particular factions and who change the dynamic of game play. Each of the alternate captains can be customised in the same way, by choosing special equipment, orders and the zodiac attribute, but they are a little more rigid.

Find your Grandfathers DOB and use that for his Zodiac attribute.
