Nice write up and good pictures - thank you.

I'm having a lot of fun with the basic two gladiators from the taster set but would love to see the full rules in print sooner rather than later!

It was a great afternoon of gaming Tas - thanks for having me. It was fun to step you guys through the start of a campaign game - that's where the real fun of BotS begins.

Cracking afternoon of gladiatorial combat Tas and Furt! Hope the heat didn't get to you guys too ;)

We didn't organise a game Bertie!

I'm working on it!

A good mate has made me a few sets of prototype dice for Blood on the Sands. I'm very keen to try them out when next demoing BotS. Each player only requires a set of six dice, and although the dice are not necessary to play BotS, I think they add a heap of theme to the game and make determining what actions your gladiator can take much easier for new players. They will also serve as a great aid during the process of finding a manufacturer.

Loving the new arena.

How long before the rules are released?

Cheers

How long before the rules are released?

It's edging ever closer Matt. The rules themselves are as good as finalised and have been so for many months now. They still need a serious proof reading and a go over by a technical writer but I'd like to say they have been play tested to death. The next part is ensuring I get all the components right - tokens, player sheets and dice etc.

Those sample dice look great!

Thanks Muzfish - it's so nice to see them in the flesh.

Furt,
Any chance that the rules will work solo?  I’m stuck with no opponents.

Hi Nick - Although I have toyed with the idea and even had a prototype solo card system in the works, unfortunately I just don't think an AI is going to do the gameplay any justice. Unlike other gladiator games there is just too many tactical options to consider with BotS. I will continue to ponder on it though.
