Hello all,
I have some more of our favorite Muppets of war to share.  The adorable Quar.

first off, I did up some of the Cadiers, which is the Quar analog for a horse.

strange beasties those are.

Here is a Crusader Yawdryl (NCO)

And some Crusader Is-Ceartens (like Junior Lts)

Here are the same figures in resin, from the new blister "crusader officers"

I guess in a world war, one can't have too many officers.  They take the highest casualties.

for support, here is the crusader light machine gunners blister, also resin.

This wraps up the crusader faction (for now).  Here's everybody:

with the miniatures all done it'll be time to move on to a suitable Quar-ish terrain board.
Thanks for looking.  If so inclined, there are more pics and stupid jokes on my blog:

Thanks Gentlemen.  😀
The Cadier are indeed done strange looking creatures.  As I say in my blog post: something out of a Jim Hensen fever dream.

The Quar skin splotches are hard to do.  When I do them right they come out like cool tiger stripes or giraffe spots or Rorschach blots.   When I get it wrong it looks like cute  polka dots.  😀

 https://em4miniatures.com/collections/wargames-atlantic

Been watching video's of the game and setting on Youtube the past few Days. Some nice painting guides on there.
I did fancy going in on the 15mm Kickstarter that they did but funds were not around at the time.
At least now i can get them in the UK and dont have to worry about customs fee's and such.

I believe that the 15mm are still available on the zombiesmith site.
I also think there will be more 15mm releases. I think I read that somewhere in the facebook discussion.

Hi Everyone,
Or at least the 4 people who still might read this.  :)
But here is the thing we all adore, more Quar progress.

first, I've done a pair of Crusader Snipers:

I always like to say the word snipper like sniPAH!

But my big update is that I started the terrain boards.  This is my first crack at doing  terrain boards.  Inspired by Quar artwork like the trenches from Tales of the Breach, the idea is to have a ridiculously big trench with more normal WW1 style trenches branching off it.  The plan is for a 4x6' table made of 3 sections that are 2x4'.

first I made the 2x4 sections.  I cut and attached some battens to the underside of the 2x4 sheet of MDF

All 3 sections constructed.

That's not an exciting picture but I'm not an especially handy person so I'm proud of my construction.

The trenches will be made out of insulation foam, easily found here in the states.
The large trench will 6" wide (ish) and 2" deep.  Here it is carved out and the outline for a smaller trench being drawn in.  I put down some Quar miniatures to test the size.

also the hieght.  Quar are a little shorter (and pudgier) than normal 28mm, so I found that trenches about 1/2 an inch in height were about right, so they can poke their cute snouts over.

lastly, for a way down into the main trench I carved out some stone stairs.

Here is the first terrain board as it stands now.

Its a fun project.  though it has required several trips to the hardware store.
if inclined, there are more pics and longer descriptions and more silly jokes on the blog:

Thanks for reading.

Nice snipers.

The idea of the big trench is interesting (I have forgotten what they are called).

Thanks Ultra.
More to come.

I don’t know what a big trench would be called either.    :)

Looking good.

Possible names - support / travel trench or reserve trench. If it connects two sets of trenches it could be a 'switch'.

Your patience with the sand bags is gob-smacking TBH.

Great job on those!  Josh has done such a brilliant job with the Quar and I love love love how people are painting them up, especially your Crusader snipers!

Not sure if it is the lighting or the painting but some of the colors look a bit dark, especially the metals.  Is that on purpose?  Or just how they are turning out?
