Empress Miniatures - New Range - Modern stuff
« on: 22 November 2009, 08:39:44 PM »
Quote
Empress Miniatures had a new range to announce at Warfare this weekend. Expecting it was going to be something a bit 19th Century (to go with their Zulu War stuff) I went and had a look and was left somewhat speechless by some greens for modern Afghanistan!?! Completely unexpected. Here is a picture I took today. As a bit of a moderns buff I think they are bloody great miniatures.

Keith and Paul who were running the stand said they hoped to have the miniatures cast by Christmas. The miniatures are meant to represent Taliban and SAS, but depending on how things go it's likely the range will expand to cover more regular troop types. Either way it's great to see some more moderns on the market.

Wow, those are nice! Best modelled moderns aprt from Eureka. The weapons are amazing. Hard to believe these aren't the Three Ups but the top photo definitely shows these are the actual scale item. I'm impressed.

Yup - the above is what I posted over on Frothers.  The first piccy is mine, the rest are from ebob.

Lovely figures.  Some of the best 28mm miniatures I've seen.

Lovely figures but not within my sphere of interest. Thank god they are not a gorgeous 19th C. colonial range that I would have had to buy.

I had exactly the same thought.  :)

It's always good to see more great looking moderns, as they're so useful for Stargate and Doctor Who.  :D
