@Pattus Magnus: Thanks very much!

@DalyDR: Thank you! Yeah, bad glare on that Maltese cross shield. His face is a bit miscast sadly (mold line running along it), but a cool figure. I love these old knight figures in general.

@Vladimir Raukov: :D The "Vladimir" vs. the usual "Valmir" threw me a little, so before I replied I did a quick internet search if Vladimir Raukov was actually a historical figure I wasn't aware of. :D But your story behind the name is even better!

Heyhey, happy Saturday. Here's another photo:

Left: City watch, Right: Bandits, Right in the front: a tiny family of happy barbarians.

Hope you like them, hope you got a lovely weekend!

Really nice! Don't think I've ever seen the plastic high elf head on the Mordheim/Free Company bodies before, but it works! A Marienburger elf or a very gaunt human, perhaps?

I love the way you do the white and black color scheme for the town guard- very lived in, realistic looking. One of the minis I can't identify is the knightly looking fellow (everyone wearing closed helmets is a knight, right? I think those were the rules back in the day...*) with the bent or curved sword, far left, third row. I like his helmet!

Great work!

*Cool helmet was also why Boba Fett was immediately recognizable as better than the other bounty hunters in The Empire Strikes Back- it took 40 years and an entirely rebooted television show to wipe the cool off that helmet, but I digress...
I have a YouTube and so can you!

Another oldie!  The guy with the (black and white) striped heater shield is a Heritage Knight, code 1202.  One of the few miniatures from that era I have still intact, as he's not waving his weapon around, and therefore it didn't break off!

@Frugalmax: Cheers! Yeah, it's an elven head with the hair covering the ears too, so it could just as well be a spaniard. :D Yeah ,very good point abuot closed helmets (and Boba Fett ;) ). Still haven't figured out if the sword is bent or meant to be curved. This one's formerly pre-painted D&D figure. Pretty 'flat' sculpt, standing there, shield pressed against the chest, sword aloft. But still looking pretty neat. Lots of detail.

@DalyDR: Thanks for the info! Yeah, he's a compact fella. :D There's another one in there, looking very similar in style with his sword raised. Sadly I photographed them in a way that made him basically disappear. There's that GW plastic chap with the feathered hat in the middle. Right above the feather, there's a sword held up, right underneath the sword of the sauron-looking guy in the  back. That one might also be from the same range. I suppose I gotta take more photos... :D

Because I was asked - can anybody identify the barbarian ladyin blue? The one with the two swords?

edit: found her. I'm not great at identifying figures, but she looks very Klocke-ian, so I checked Reaper's website, and there she is: https://www.reapermini.com/miniatures/werner%20klocke/latest/30219

Big ups to Reaper for making it possibly to proper search their miniatures catalogue. Useful search functions (including bloody internet search engines) seem to become rarer by the month.

- Agreed! It's been a very helpful tool for a good while (at least 14 years, probably more). While other companies have rebooted their websites and online stores several times, Reaper's just works to easily find what you're looking for.

The two-sword wielding barbarian lady is one that Reaper has recently ported over from Freebooter miniatures- if your version is metal it's probably from Freebooter, but if it's 3D printed Resin/plastic it's probably from Reaper.

I never saw any announcement about it, but it looks like a lot of Werner Klocke's Freebooter minis that sat outside or on the periphery of the official Freebooter's Fate range have been "digitally remastered" and acquired by Reaper (nice for me as they are much easier to get my hands on!). Not sure if they are going to bring over the whole range or just a handful.

In fact, I checked Freebooter minis website first, but of course the original FBM range isn't on there any more (still enjoyed looking at some of the older FBF figures for a bit, because they are glorious. ;)

Interesting info though on Reaper having taken on the original FBM range.

Wonderful ensembles of Dnd/ fantasy figures.  :-*

I'm very size-ist about 'compatible' figures, really sad stuff, and then you see groups of beautifully painted figures together like this (quite a few  of which I've agonised over in this context) all looking absolutely fine in each other's company ...  ::). Funny what a twit one can be ... or maybe not so funny  o_o  :'(

Tough to tell from this image.  Any chance the sword is a repair, and not the original weapon?  Is he equipped with a Norman-style kite shield?  I have a suspicion . . .
