Work in Progress D&D collection. Update: Raging Nuns!
« on: May 16, 2024, 07:44:32 PM »
Heyhey, right now I'm in the process of painting somebody's Dungeons & Dragons collection of 28mm figures. Starting with some character figures and a red dragon (because a red dragon can not be beat in terms of visual appeal.

The latter picture features a troop of knights from a gaming specific world's knightly order. There's a lot more to come, including ruins, very nice furniture, evil gribblies and more characters.

Hope you like them so far!

Wonderful looking figures! Great attention to detail - especially that shield.  The dragon of course steals the spotlight as they tend to do...
Painted:  2025:539; 2024: 410; 2023: 37; 2022: 56

Lovely work, the dragon is of course stunning, but I really like the way those knights are all individuals but you do get the sense they belong to the same Order.

@syrinx0: Cheers. Yeah, I was ordered to file the shield on the knights (where present) flat and freehand their chapter logo on there.

@armchairgeneral: Thank you!

@Dean: Yeah, it's a very diverse looking group, but goes to show what a coherent colour scheme can do.

@Freddy: Thanks very much!

Heyhey, here's some more figures, this time of the furry/scaly (even though I vaguely remember crocodile skin not being scaly, but ...just hard and horny or something like that. :P ) variety:

A werewolf warrior, the wildshape form of one of the characters (who lost an arm, so the crocodile also lacks a front leg), a .....fairy lion which came with one leg missing so I remade it from green stuff, but I won't tell which one it was :P ) and a fantasy dog/fox/fennek creature. Looks very fast and friendly though.

Today I received another parcel with figures for this collection. Those I won't be allowed to show on the internet, because they're secret for now.

By the way, this is the collection owned by the lovely people who run this youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@FoolScholarProductions/videos. If I understood it right they play D&D adventures and then bascially do a re-telling of their games as audioplays. Really impressive productions.

@OSHIROmodels: Cheers!

@syrinx0: Many thanks!

@has.been: Thank you, I kinda did. :D

Heyhey, sorry for the lack of follow-up. The figures were done for a video/audio producer and I had to keep stumm about further figures of that collection, but now I'm free to post them and I will (and refer to his great youtube channel and all of that good stuff. He's a lovely guy with a very cool collection).

Until then, here's some D&D figures I just painted for another gentleman's collection. All 3d printed (but nice figures ;) ):

Hope you like them and enjoy your weekend!

This one's the last quiet weekend for a while. Next week I'll be at an event, the week thereafter I'll be at Vienna Comicon. Should be a hoot. :)

@syrinx0: Cheers! Yeah, Comiccon 2024 was really good fun. Different to last year, a bit more space, I did the painting workshop thing again, which is great fun, and I had several people who attended last year come around again to paint something. Had NO time to look around because I'm just by myself and I have to be at my table and/or paint with people. On top of that I got an emergency commission thing in for that weekend, because a dear customer needed a command staff for his 15mm Napoleonic Austrians painted for a big battle the next week, which added to the fun. :D So yeah. Mix of lovely old faces, lovely new faces, saw a SMASHING game of Dungeonbowl on the table behind mine.

@has.been: Thanks very much!

Hello, hello, I'm back. Here's a WIP shot of a zombie dude who either got a castle built around him OR lived in a castle and by accident drank an unlabelled Potion of Enlarge.

Already I sunk several days into the chap, somehow the model just seems to become more and more vast the more paint I put on him. He's proper big. He's designed to house 28mm figures, measures 66cm feet to eye level, 79cm to the top of the pole on that tower on his back. Well, I hope you like him so far. Nothing's finished yet, but I hope I can proceed swiftly!

Now that's a giant!  :o

I take it you're not tackling him purely with brushes? And is that a unique build, a 3D print, or something else?
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
