Beat cops from the 1980s - I painted them to resemble Chicago PD uniforms, because I have quite a few police cars for Blues Brothers...  ;)

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses...

Great painting! Which company makes the figures? I don’t recognize them.

Funny (or maybe not so funny) though, when I saw them it felt odd that they aren’t equipped with armoured vests.

Those are great!

I’m reminded of Kurt Cobain’s famous guitar sticker: “Vandalism: as beautiful as a rock to a cop’s face”  lol

Most of them look like being from Foundry, but I'm not sure. Four of them (slightly taller and without ties) are from somewhere else, which I also forgot.  ::)

Nice cops!  They look the part.

Yeah - American patrol officers didn't wear much in line of body armor (none at all, really) in the '80s, even in the bigger departments.

They are from Westwind:

Still true into the 1990s. But sometime the baddies did.

If you ever want a nightmare scenario that will weird out the player controlling the cops, try the real life North Hollywood shootout.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Hollywood_shootout

There was even a fairly craptastic made for television film with Michael Madsen and Mario van Peebles made about it: 44 Minutes. It's not great cinema but it's fairly true to the events, well as least as much as a Hollywood production ever is.

Yeah - the PD had to "borrow" AR15s from a local gun shop, and one bad guy went down with an "under the car" shot to his foot...

We had a game that went a bit like that gunfight.  I think it's somewhere early on in my "Modern Stuff" thread...

I have Crooked Dice American police, but I've eyeballed those Foundry cops more than once, and threads like this only make me look at them again...  My Wall of opportunity is already pretty full.  But who knows, maybe some day...
