Russian Fall 41 Chain of Command in 15mm
« on: 11 November 2024, 03:24:16 PM »
This was another chance to get some Fall foliage on the table. I also wanted to do a game that required some manuervering decisions and some basic units. I used the delaying action scenario and had the Germans needed to advance across a mostly water logged board to capture the small farmstead on the other side of the creek. To further complicate things, there was an offboad Russian MMG that covered their left flank (up to the higher ground, about 6 to 8 inches in) to prevent any edge-of-the-world gaminess. This meant that the attackers could spent loads of time moving through the muck with a -2 per dice penalty or use the higher ground along the road on their right to advance to the goal.
Germans had standard 3 section platoon with an added section and an MMG team Russkies also had an extra section and a Maxim team.

A.  Very nice looking table and minis.  You've dome those 15mm fellas justice.

B.  Interesting battle and report.  Tactical challenges all around...

Looks great, I do think 15mm is probably the right scale for CoC (or other WWII skirmish games) infantry are big enough to tell what weapons they have - yet there is still plenty of space on the table.

Lovely table, really great work. I do love the Barbarossa up to the snow part!
