The Peterbilt tractor unts and their various trailers from the Matchbox Superkings range scale quite nicely with 28mm and are cheap and plentiful on e-bay (other online auction site are available )

Go with cheap die-cast cars like the ones available at small drug stores etc.   They have great detail and can be dis-assembled, modded, then re-assembled.   If you wanna look on amazon then maisto is the thing to look for.   I have several now.   

If you find some at a live physical location, put a mini in your pocket and hold it up to the car to check scale, as some of them are too big or too small.   The mini trick always works.   If you wanna go get nearly-fully-painted aquarium terrain to use on your game table, the mini trick works there too.

I knew about cars in general, but found it very difficult to find motorcycles, bicycles, ATV's and the other vehicles. I just needed one or two maybe of a handful different vehicles, but now I have a lot to choose from  .

For Soviet trucks these are 1/56 scale toys based on the harvester truck which was sent to Russia on the lend lease scheme. The Russians put them into production  themselves in 1947 and China produced them until the late 1980's according to Wiki.

I have 10 that I use for Bolt Action WW2 and Modern skirmish games.... if you search for this on Amazon they are £8.29 for 10, mine have painted up great and on the table look perfectly acceptable.
