Space Pirates vs Scientific cultists - Attack on the Freewinds
« on: February 25, 2025, 12:55:02 AM »
A couple of weeks ago I was browsing the internet and came across a bit of celebrity gossip involving an American actress who had been in a scientific cult and was currently involved in a dispute with them.  Being the curious type I did a little more research and once I found out that the found that the said cult actually owed a cruise ship this the first thing I thought of was pirates!  Not having a suitable miniature for a contemporary pirate game I opted to give it a sci fi setting (mainly because I had the terrain).  The scenario was that the ship of the scientific cult (the Freewinds - which is not based on any real vessel) was carrying the cult leader and two of his Hollywood lackeys (who shall remain nameless but who have the initials JT and TC) plus a good deal of gold to a recruiting seminar when they are intercepted by a combined Quar & human pirate force.  The pirates entered on one end of the vessel and had to fight their way through a substantial force of robotic sentinels before encountering (and quickly routing) a force of cultist rabble.  At this point the advance unit of Quar encountered the first of the cult leader's (L Ron Hubbard in his true form of an alien brain parasite) Hollywood lackeys and in a hard fought action vanquished him.  After the rest of the pirates arrived they then engaged the second of the lackeys (TC) and after finishing him off they cornered the cult leader in this lair and in an epic firefight finished him off.  At this point the pirates looted the ship while we went out for pizza.

Great idea for the scenario! The figs and terrain look very nice, too.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer, and more deserving, already dead fella...

Thanks for sharing!
