Thanks a lot guys - really appreciate it!  :D

Time for some Union rank-and-file! These are metal Perry codes straight out of the box - some of them has had their bayonets removed other than that they're all stock so no major conversion work here for a couple of head swaps (which seems to be my favorite thing to do lol):

Enlisted men need officers to lead them into battle - so here are three converted Union officers!

Nr. 1 was built using parts from the Union ACW plastic kit from Perry as well as arms from the British Sudan kit - the mustashe is made using Green Stuff.
Nr. 2 was built using one of the metal ones from Perry - he got a new head and hands.
Nr. 3 was built using parts from the Union ACW plastic kit as well as a head from the Sudanese kit (Ansar) - the hat is from the metal CSA commanders code.

Speaking of officers - here are the two commanders of my opposing forces.

The Union commander got a new sword and a mustashe - other than that he's straight out of the box from one of the Perry Union commander codes.
The Confederate cavalry commander got a new head, hat (both from the dismounted CSA Cavalry Command code) and a new hand - a pistol one. The horse is a plastic one from the ACW Cavalry kit, by Perry as well.

Note the leaf on one of the reins on the CSA officer's horse - it's not supposed to be there - must have gotten there during the last game!  lol

Damn they are all pretty good looking. :D
I am going to need a paint tutorially for your Union troops and Confederate officers.

I am going to need a paint tutorially for your Union troops and Confederate officers.

Alright - for my Union coats I start with a Night Lords Blue base, followed by a wash of 50/50 Corvus Black and water, followed by watered down Abbadon Black wash in creases etc. I then do a really subtle highlight of Macragge blue. Then a light and subtle drybrush of Zandri Dust on the skirts and elbows.

For the CSA officers I either do a basecoat of Russ Grey, followed by a wash of 50/50 Skavenblight Dinge (or Rhinox Hide) and water, followed by a highlight of Fenrisian Grey and subtle Zandry Dust drybrush on shirts and/or elbows or a basecoat of Dawnstone, followed by a wash of 50/50 Skavenblight Dinge (or Rhinox Hide) and water, followed by a highlight of Administratum Gray and subtle Zandry Dust drybrush on shirts and/or elbows.

Hope this helps!  :D

Speaking of blues and greys - here are my "generic" mounted flag bearers. Both are conversions using parts from the plastic ACW Cavalry kit as well as the plastic CSA infantry kit and a couple of metal CSA cavalry codes. Flags are GMB and Flags of War:

Really been enjoying the progress of this project. I have some plastic zulus - -what a good idea for heads. I never thought of that.

Glad to hear that! It's a great resource IMO - I've used Zulu heads for my USCT troops as well as for my AWI guerilla and militia - I'm currently converting some French colonial troops during AWI using the aforementioned heads, so really, it's a great resource.  :D
