Battle of Ulaan Khad
« on: 17 April 2025, 05:54:15 AM »
https://pygmywars.com/rcw/history/china/china.html  (scroll down a bit)

This is a little known (as in, basically, unknown in English) battle between the forces of Ungern-Sternberg and the Chinese.

Quite gameable. Small forces and manageable terrain.

If anyone can get me a decent topographic map of the area, I would be grateful. My interest in the Baron does not extend to shelling out for topographic maps of Mongolia.

Have you checked the US National Archives or Library of Congress for a topographical map? They used to have a website of maps in their collection, but it can be hard to sift through their websites at times...

I've added another account of the Baron's battles. This time the capture of the Chinese positions in front of Urga.

Again, it would make a good game.

I'm just popping in the first time in a while.  This is a welcome surprise.  Thanks.
