Time for photos to populate at LAF threads?
« on: 28 May 2025, 04:05:35 PM »
Just curious if there is any reason to this: some threads here on LAF populate very quickly with photos and others take like a "week and a half" to partly populate (exaggeration, of course, but you know what I mean).  Anyone able to advise why the difference?   Any chance it relates back to where the photo is hosted?

And I am discounting available bandwidth - that doesn't seem to matter.

Just curious.  And thanks!

I have about 50/50 on visible pics, I assume it's down to external hosting...

The Browser can make a difference.

I use Chrome as my main browser and occasionally when I can't see an image I try in Edge and I see it.  Also if you are viewing on a Smart phone, iPad or PC the Browser could behave differently.  Plus any settings that might have been selected within the Browser.

(Chrome is stricter about blocking "mixed content" (loading HTTP images on an HTTPS page) for security reasons. If your hosted images are served over HTTP but your site is loaded over HTTPS, Chrome may block those images, while Edge may still display them depending on its security settings.)
