Wargaming the Age of the Anglo-Saxons at Sutton Hoo 2025

Yes, 'Wargaming the Age of the Anglo-Saxons' is back again for the third year running at the iconic Anglo-Saxon burial site of Sutton Hoo in Suffolk, UK, on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 July 2025.
Once again, Mogsymakes, Peterborough Wargames Club and East Anglian Historical Wargamers are back with exciting participation games to engage and enthral visitors young and old! Not only that but Gripping Beast miniatures have very generously provided us with 3 boxes of plastic Anglo-Saxon thegns so that visitors can paint one as a freebie at our painting table (while stocks last!)
This year the weekend also marks the start of the Sutton Hoo 'Summer of Play' festival so there'll be loads to keep the kids entertained along with all the model soldier goodness. It's all free with site admission so if you are anywhere nearby, do pop on down and join the fun!

Really looking forward to it! One of the highlights of my year and a great weekend to be working at the site!

I have it on good authority that is one of the other activities...

I went to this last year as a nice little impromptu solo holiday because my wife was at a hen do, fun weekend and nice to go to a site I probably wouldn't have got to soon.
