Thank you all. Really appreciated.

Pigman was funny to paint when I realised he isn't wearing pants, like Porky Pig!

 lol

Yeah, bear bums appear to be a feature of the range. All of which have been lovingly painted from earth shade crevice to pinky cheeks. I've had a real blast painting these. I've a few more in the lead pile which I'm going to reward myself with after doing some army painting.

And for Gibby. Sorry, I don't have any modern GW minis, but I've included 1980s hobgoblins for scale. I imagine, what with 30 years of scale creep, that the Eureka miniatures will probably work fine with modern sculpts.

Thanks, Old Hob! This is very useful. They look a decent size, but to be fair when it comes to chaos mutants, they'd be all sorts of weird proportions I guess! May have to bite the bullet on my Eureka Minis UK basket in the near future!

Next up on this occasional thread we have a couple of Citadel RuneQuest broo from Boxed Set 4 (v3): The Broo 2 (1983). No idea who the sculptor was, but I know they're based on concept drawings by John Blanche. Top-tier beastmen.

Brilliant work on those!

The broos were sculpted by the Perry twins.

In her second range of beastmen, Trish Carden used some of the Perry bodies - for example, the one with the surcoat (which ends up as a two-headed beastman with one featureless face) and the two-headed one from Attack of the Broo, which gets a sort of flattened human-ish head.

I knew if anyone would know it would be Hobgoblin! Thank you. I had a suspicion that it might be the Perrys, but couldn't find a reference anywhere. Do you happen to know if they also sculpted the SS3 Knights of Chaos boxed set? My gut says 'yes' (the sculpts are superb), but, again, I can't find a reference in any of the usual places (SoL, Lost Minis etc.).

I'd bet a considerable amount on it! I think the Perrys did all the early boxed sets between Bryan Ansell's Chaos Marauders (and opposition) and Aly Morrison's hobgoblins and samurai.

Great looking beasties! I could never afford many back when they were released (and they were hard to find in Canada), but I loved their style, and still do.

I may have fallen a bit in love with them. Trouble is, what with them only being in production for around a year and of a vintage susceptible to lead rot, there aren't too many around. Even with a grown up job I'm going to struggle to afford many of 'em!  lol
