looks very interesting - the guy seems pretty dedicated

However I believe this compromise works only for US narrow gauge railway and is pretty much labour-intensive and expensive. It also uses a lot of material available in US only or as expensive import in Europe.

Not a bad idea at all, but people should bear this in mind before contemplating to jump on this train   ;)

wonder what Michi has to say about this....

former user's right, the 55 scale stuff is mainly aimed at North American narrow guages of 1880-1940 that in recent year have been the focus of most On30 scale modeling.

this summer I talked to a nearby model railroading company that was looking at making some buildings in 1/55. Their expected costs on a country store was around $130 and $160 for the train station. Of course there would plenty of doodads to fill them out, but that is way out of my gaming budget.

While it is true that the majority of narrow guage RRs were in the american west, I recently discovered that a large number of RRs in central and southern Poland were also narrow guage making it possible that there is a use for such On3 scale models in european RRs. Just thought I'd add this.
