Very early A7V [finished]

...the sideproject: a wooden A7V... there will be four wheels on each side. I'm not quite sure, which (weird) time period this could be from, but I'll add an optional smokestack ;)



It is about 2/3 of the original's scale.

The period it is from is 1917, as the original A7V prototype really was made of wood.  :)

Obviously designed by an artillerist with a huge set of tweezers for pulling the gigantic splinters out.

If I had the chance I'd transfer to the Light Brigade. It had a better chance of survival ;)

And it's a wonderful idea.

Why not make one with gutta percha walls? Solid shot would just bounce off.

Ah... looking good, was wondering when the rivets would show up.   :)

What is that thing on the side, though?  If it is a door, I don't think a door would be placed so close to the gun area.  Think it needs to be moved back a bit.

Hi... I wanted to place the original's elements near their original position on this tank. Moving the door back would cause problems with the wheels ;) From that angle the wood-tank looks more narrow than it really is, there should be enough space to get in and out  lol

I don't see a problem with that - think of all the early WWII tanks that had these hatches right at the side of the main gun area in the turret. Could have been a sound reason why so many tankers survived to become veteran IMHO.
and the A7V had what? 18 crew?
