Sadly, this is often the case with tournaments run by or at GW stores.

I can see their point, though. If you are hosting games in your own shop, you don't want to start giving other manufacturers a bit of free advertising. I think I'm  right in saying they allow conversions using other figures, so long as a good proportion is from GW parts.

At a "neutral" venue, it's a different matter though and anything should be useable.

Unfortunately, here there are not other organizers of tournaments outside of those related to the GW stores, or to indipendent stores who are selling GW's mina, and all apply the restrictive GW rules.
