Being our resident resin building casting expert, I believe Skrapwelder took regular straight sided buildings that he'd cast himself & angled the edges on a belt sander to make the slanted sides.

Might be able to do something similar with cutting the ends of foam core at an angle.

Yep, the Barsoomian buildings were originally mis-casts from the Adobe range of my old Arnica, Montana buildings. I made a jig for my disc sander that made the trapezoid shape fairly easy to do.
