Something new for In the Heart of Africa
« on: April 21, 2010, 03:26:02 PM »
Now that we have the rights to these rules (along with others), I'll occasionally be adding new stuff for them either online or in Thrilling Expeditions Quarterly and, in some cases, both places like I am doing with this. Some things, like what I have here, are strictly for fun and hopefully will give your players an interesting night of a slightly supernatural Africa. I know that historical purists might have a fit, but as I state with these rules, groups should feel free to ban their use for their more grounded-in-reality games.

As many of you probably know, Conquest Miniatures makes a great line of Zombie Pygmies. I have a lot of them and thought they would be fun for a one-off night of gaming. So, I present to you below, rules for ZOMBIE PYGMIES.

There is a PDF version linked below the JPG and this will also appear in the next Thrilling Expeditions Quarterly (out shortly).

Remind me, who produces that range of zombie pygmies? Obelisk?

Dang !  Up to this moment I have successfully resisted buying the zombie pygmies.  I'm off to order all of 'em.  Nice work, Operator5. you enabler you!

Reminds me that two years back I ordered some river terrain from Conquest.  It arrived promptly at my front door, but didn't seem to have any address written on the package.  And, come to notice there was no postage shown, either.  Very strange.  I later ascertained that Eric of Conquest takes his little girl to the school across the street from my apartment every day, and had just personally dropped off the package.  Amazing service.

I'm liking this direction. Do you have the stats for the zombie pygmies or are the stats for normal pygmies used for archers and spearmen and normal warriors for the zombie pygmy warriors?

Will you be making a PDF of the WW1 East Africa rules? I can e-mail them to you if you don't have them.

Normal Pygmy stats for them. And yes, Warrior stats for the Warriors. But the Warriors will only get +2 for Close Combat instead of the +3.

In Central Africa??? That would be silly.  :D :D

Depending on response, I may add some more supernatural stuff to allow for Imaro style gaming.

Also, after seeing the Wargames Illustrated article on the campaign game, I've been working on some animal rules to allow for some unpredictable features.

First fix is always free.  :D
