Is it wrong that my forst response to the header was "With paint, of course."

Honestly though, White Knight beat me to the link I was going to give you. Good stuff there.

Out of interest where did you get that BDU from? (i'm guessing you are a demos re-enacter..? )

I've been rewatching the film (even holding it freezeframed on my itouch against that photo) and the colours look completely different (the film BDU looks a lot greyer as a base colour) I know that film crews use incredibly strong lighting ffects, but all the same was surprised by the difference in colour/tone....

Hei Akula,

yes, I'm member of an Re-enactment group based on Aliens.

We bought our BDU here:
http://www.scifimilitary.com/
Like most of the other groups.
As far as I know there was also a version which was a little greener, but not much.

Here you can see a pic of Hudsons BDU

You can also follow these 2 links if interested in Aliens, both are highly recomended:

Personally, too light and no variation between the armour and fatigues but your call.

Good point. I tried the camo but I was very unhappy with the results.  I repainted the original figures and just gave them a lightish olive, general look. Plan to use them as US jungle troopers or something like that with my mercenaries. I speed painted them in groups and threw ink over them to catch the detail- they are a bit sloppy.  Did take into account the pictures provided but I prefer a flat look.

I love this website as it's like the Chelsea Flower Show but only with zombies and aliens. I personally would vote for your zombie board best in show.  8)

I tried to copy the pictures in Colonial Marines Tech Manual. As soon I figure how to attach images, I'll publish the results.
