Warlords new notGladiator model............

Quote
This superb sculpt blew us away when we first saw it and can easily imagine the General commanding his troops or, perhaps, leading a cavalry charge deep into the flanks of the barbarian horde!

From the finely sculpted breastplate and wolf fur lined cloak to the collar on his faithful warhound, this model exudes character and leadership from every surface.

This model is simply so grand we just had to produce him resin. We will, in the future, make the model in metal but for those who want the model in allo it’s detailed glory here;s your chance!

'So do all who see such times. But that is not for us to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that we are given.'

Maximus model is great, high level of detail  :o but the hound does not convince me, maybe the snout and eyes...
By the way does anyone know what´s the breed of the dog that appears in the movie? I doubt between Saarloos Wolfdog or German Shepherd Dog.

Quintus: People should know when they are conquered.
Maximus: Would you, Quintus? Would I?

That's my Roman Mini-me sorted, then!  :D

I've got one for the ECW already (Essex) , so only a few dozen others needed for all the other periods  lol

2D? Looks 3D to my poor old eyes  ;)  The dog is a bit "Scooby Doo", but I've seen far worse and he's still useable.

While it does look rather flat, the paint and proper base helps to look past that. I think the integral base's shape adds to the "flat" appearance in that first pic. Looks pretty nice.

Is this part of that new-fangled street language that you young whipper-snappers use to confuse us old farts?

It works with me  :(

Nah, it's that fella from Scibor's monstrous miniatures, he makes mini moulds in which he presses greenstuff into. He does it a lot but making flat lumps of green and using a credit card 'drawing' the detail into it. When it dries, he presses another bit of green into it to make shields and stuff. Does it a lot for his GW conversions for imperial eagles and the like.
Just easier to call it sciboring.  ;)

Ah, makes sense  :)

I've tried that greenstuff shield-making technique and it works pretty well. The only problem I had was that the rear of the shields were featureless. I suppose I could have made a mould of the rear and pressed it into the greenstuff in the existing "front face" mould - but that would probably be pushing my limited talents too far  lol

No problem with a shield being featureless at the back.

Just use a dremel to sand it down when it sets and sculpt some wood into it (either with a knife or more greenstuff).

The back of shields doesn't really bother me too much!  lol

Fair enough for the more regular close-order troops, but for the Azande( who I was making them for) with their wilder fighting style, the rear of the shield is often visible and lack of the basketwork detail can be very noticeable. As you say, mostly not too important but sometimes.....  ::)
