That is too neat!

I play C in Cairo (but I have been using C in Carpathia rules, since the new C in Cairo rules are not out   :-[  )
I just bought C in Cairo from Wargames Downloads.

Fantastic work.
Thanks for showing the three stages of each mummy.

I picked mine up at Fall In - hard copy too as they had printed a few off for sale at the convention.

Holy crap this is amazing! When I saw the first pic I thought "okay, pretty standard" then I went to the second and third pics and was completely blown away.

Amazing!

I got question for additional information about how i made this conversions.
I paste here the explanation just in case someone wants more info.

The body is made with the Games Workshop skeleton and zombies sprue, and the bandages with epoxy putty, the usual yellow and blue, (this one is from GF9.com ) as far as i know is a standar epoxy putty.
I used also a a sculpting lancet, to be more precise, this one
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1290201&prodId=prod1095464 but any other similar tools should work the same.

The process  it's only a matter to do thin sausages and then wrap them around the mummy softly pressing to flat them.

Another option is do the sausages with more blue than yellow putty (the mix dries faster and is less sticky), wait the putty turns harder and then press to flat them before to apply on to the miniature, but that can only be done when the putty is harder ready to dry if done too soon the sausage will stick on the table and then is a mess to remove it.
So needs to be quite fast or at least in small quantities each time if you have 5 sausages drying at the same time very probably some will turn too hard to stick properly on the model.
That happened to me a couple of times, with these too dry sausages I made tiny cobras to make a cobra swarm base in a near future.

Nothing else, no secret formula, I invested around a couple of hours per mummy, by the way, do sausages is boring as hell :-(

Well, there's nothing boring about the result  :)  This MIGHT be the best alternative use of GW plastics I've seen so far. Effect is stunningly good.  :-*

Ditto. They even look like a bunch of lackeys. A shot of them along with the rest of your warband would be great.  ::)

Man, I'm quite impressed. I've a bunch of those sprues laying aroun for ages, and have done some conversions with them, but your ideas and models are by far the best I've seen.

Thanks for sharing.

but that can only be done when the putty is harder ready to dry if done too soon the sausage will stick on the table and then is a mess to remove it.

An old trick for this is to use a plastic bag and some water .

You spread a thin coat of water on the plastic bag, put your sausage on that and then press the sausage flat. Then you wait a little for the mix to harden and "peel" the plastic bag from the sausage. (Some people use vaseline instead of water, but then, once you remove it, the bandages may be a little greasy, and don't stick too well to itself or the model).

By the way, you can use a 50-50 mix, or as you say, use a little more hardener.

Hope that helps.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Wow those are great conversions. What a great use for the GW zombie bits. I think I'll try my had at one.

Again, great work and well presented. I've tried various GW skeleton conversions over the years but have never been able to get away from the plastic gw look. However, you have shown that it can be done.

after a forced long break I finally got some time to finish my CiC Mummy warband.
Here you have the second batch of custom eternal slaves, sorry no pics of the process this time.

All the slaves together looks like this

In case you feel curious about the whole warband here you have all:
The Mummy Lord (Reaper conversion)

The High Priest (Reaper conversion too)

Tomb Guards

the whole warband

These are my first attemps of NMM gold and rusty iron, i'm not too satisfied of some, so any advice will be more than welcome :-)

Now is time to paint some archaeologist
