Just fantastic.  I shall base my own Congo steamer on that design  (if you don't mind)

After two weeks delay doing nothing on the ship I managed to finish all the details yesterday. I used a lot more brass this time as pipes and tiny parts are so much sturdier than plastic, and the upper deck steam pipes were so appealing on some contemporary photos. Apart from the ship's bottom and the cabin all main parts are still unglued and can be taken apart for painting. That's what I'll start with tomorrow, and then the ship will be finished within a couple of days ( ...hopefully!).

She's unfinished, but I swear I can hear the steam hissing, the thrumming of the engine and the splash and beat of her wheel in the water. Superb, sir!  :-*

Really nice looking sternwheeler!!!!!
I had to go through one of the books about Congo and you really got the feeling of the real thing in you model.

For you swedishreading guys out there there is a small book named "den vite mannens grav" (white mans grave" that are really nice and tells the story about the 340 seamen who worked in Congo with some really nice pictures on boats and on themself..

I like the description about one mechanic who liked to put animals in spirit and spirit in himslef :)

No gloves at all!  lol

I mostly use liquid plastic cement of a very watery consistency, applied with a small brush. So I hold two parts together, get some glue on the brush and let the fluid soak into the tiny area by capillary action. That's it, let dry and don't touch for some minutes.

I don't buy it. There must be black magic involved. Begone, Satan!

So, here we are, the steamer is finished! Some pics from the painting stage, the rest from the steamer with some figures:

Last pic shows the transport box, hopefully adequate for such a ship ...
