I have made loads of Adobe buildings. You can see lots of photos if you trawl through my Gallery:

They would work fine for The Caribbean etc, perhaps adding pantile sloping roofs would also work. They are fairly easy to scratchbuild.

Do you have any idea how intimidating it is to go through your bloody gallery? I can scratch stuff together, but your builds are some of the ones that make me say 'how the hell does he do that?'...

Do you use patterns, or just wing it together?

Here are my pirate buildings. A mixture of the Gary Chalk Spanish style ones mixed in with a few Adobe's.  The plans were in an old Wargames Illustrated but I think are now in the Foundry compendium(?)

Wow, those look good. I wonder if there is any chance the Gary Chalk designs are out on the net somewhere...

I think they are long gone unless someone has the PDF.
The buildings were originally in Issue 146: Adobe Houses and Issue 154: Spanish Church and Terrain Boards

I have the PDF :D

Let me have your email address and I'll ping it over to you.

My buildings pretty much follow Gary Chalks style using foamboard, filler etc. And I don't follow plans, I wing it, but keep that quiet ;)
If there are any bits you were wnodering how I did them let me know.

There's a few nice Spanish or Italian looking buildings, possibly scratchbuilt, on the third page of this James Bond thread in Pulp by Photographer:

And adobe in progress shots by Malamute in the Old West forum:
