caribbean buildings - LotHS
« on: June 03, 2011, 05:58:02 AM »
Folks, just looking for some inspiration for other builidngs to add to my  caribbean port.

I plan to do a tavern, an inn (like a tavern but with stabling attached I thought), black-smith, maybe a separate stables, a sizeable governors residence, some form of military base, and the one I was not too sure about was a brothel/bordello type building. I couldnt decide whether such 'strumpets' would simply have worked out of the local taverns and inns, or would they have had their own building.

I had a look about on wikipedia etc but couldnt see anything conclusive either way...
Thoughts?

Cheers
Scott

Have a read through this thread:

Its all about the Gary Chalk articles from Wargames Illustrated. He made some lovely scratch build adobe buildings sometime ago that alot of us have drawn inspiration from.

The plans are available from Twrchtrwyth here on the forum. I also have the basic house plans if you need them.

Thanks Darren - I had not come across fatspider before.

MBA has a series of Spanish/Med buildings (which I think they may be about to expand):

So does Brigade Games:

Neither has a tavern yet, though.

You could also check out Grand Manner www.grandmanner.co.uk in their Spanish Napoleonic lines.  I think they have a few items you could use...  ;)
