Miniatures compatible with old metal Cadians
« on: 09 August 2010, 01:45:31 PM »
I'm looking for minis that are compatible in style and size with the old metal Cadians. I saw some images of the Shockforce corporate troopers (made by the same sculptor?) but they are hard to find, so I need other alternatives.

I'm planning on using them as a PDF (Planetary Defense Force).

I don't have any to compare (either cadians or these Heresy figures) but maybe Heresy's SciFi troopers?

Those look great, but with only 4 sculpts...not enough variety right now.

What about the 1st Corps Colonial Troopers. As anyone used them? I read that they are closer to 25mm than 28mm. Would they fit with the old Cadians? (they don't seem to be as "28mm heroic" as the plastic ones).

They're still quite chunky. I was thinking that maybe the em4 plastic troopers could work for you. Although the height of the models fits, the GW stuff is somewhat...
massive in comparison.

The Pig Iron guys in greatcoats should fit in well size wise. They are kinda chunky and the weapons are large.I don't have any metal cadians anymore to directly compare them mind you.Though they aren't in the same "style" of uniform.
Copplestone future wars troopers would be as tall ,but not as chunky, and the weapons are more to scale.

@Hauptgefreiter - I've got a couple of em4 troopers and they are too small, for my tastes. Bought them some years ago to use with...Heroscape, lol.

@fitterpete - Can't use the greatcoats for this , I already use them as Neo-Soviets in my universe. But some of the other figures may be of some use to me, although I would like them to be less armored than the Cadians.

Speaking of neo soviets, the Copplestone ones are easily as large and bulky as the Cadians. No armor and cool looking guns, kind of have a Valhallan look to them.
And the EM4 troopers were sculpted by Copplestone.I had a bunch way back when but sold them for the same reason, too small for GW figs.In my opinion the Copplestone Future Wars guys are noticably larger than the old EM4.

Yes, they are great, but I opted for using the greatcoats for that role. But those Assault Troopers from Copplestone are also an item for me to consider  :-*

They are pre-paints, but how about At-43 U.N.A Steel Troopers?

If your using the older Cadians, dont forget the Warrior Woman from the Last Chancers set, or the old Tank Crew mini's if you can find them.

@killshot - I sold mine some time ago, they are too big (or to be honest, too well proportioned) to fit with the Cadians.

@TheMightyFlip - just lost a bid on Ebay for those GW tank riders. I'll have to check that Warrior Woman.

And my question stands - does anyone have 1st Corps Colonial Troopers? Are they closer in size to the old Cadians?

Thanks! That Female commisar is a bit smaller, lol. I've bought some Rogue Trader Commisars and commanders

These should be suitable.

eM-4 Troopers.  Metal models.
I still have some from the early 90s, and they scale pretty well.

Make very good "USCM" marines, too.

do a couple of comparison photos against the stuff we've done and I'll have a look thru my bits to see if there's anything suitable.
