Very nice indeed. I wish there was an 'applause' emoticon.

When TheMightyFlip comes over to play with your toys, can I come too?

It's a great game looking at your buildings and trying to recognize all the household items that have been recycled

The razors are a great idea as are the pegs. I'm sure we've seen your wife's modelling talents displayed before. This will be a fantastic set up once it's finished.

Ok I guess I get to necro my own threads but I haven't had much chance to work on this project for several months.  We've been getting some stuff done lately though.

Here's the mostly finished main office of Venture Star Prospecting Company.

Neat stuff!

Are the roofs of those two buildings takeout sushi trays?  :)

Around these parts they package all kinds of meat in them.  I'm pretty sure these had pork or beef in them.

They look like the boxes mushrooms come in where I am. I have a bunch in the loft.

Mmmm... boxes...  ;D

Oh, and smashing looking base you've got there Ironworker! I love the chimney-thing with the bits of peg on it!

That looks cool! Excellent of those razor handles. Reuse, recycle... an ore processing plant that's good for the planet.  :)

Agreed, though I'm a bit woozy on having the razor handles I use combined with hair curlers. ;->=

The plastic clothespins are inspired!

What are the 2 silver boxes on the platform on the left? They look like they'd make great pre-fab houses for 15mm sci-fi.

I think those are from the Pegasus Hobbies imports of Techno(sp?) construction sets. Platformer?

The silver boxes in the first image, of course, are from the grocer.

Quite inspiring. I have some of the same pieces sitting around collecting dust. I guess I will now have to ad this to my projects list for this year. No more waiting for ideas, its right here in front of me.

Nice work. I love the colours and the general griminess. Are you planning on adding any ladders/ramps so that the poor workers don't have to climb the pillars to get to their workplace? Also, a catwalk is a great addition to any industrial complex, both from a verisimilitude and a gameplay perspective.

Sorry I know my posting on this WIP thread has been sporadic but progress is slow since I only get a couple days every couple months to work on miniatures.  Here's a shot with all the buildings for the main part of the spaceport done.  Of course we still have a lot of painting and detailing to do.  Yes we are building ramps.  Slowly.

I've got more shots on my blog.

We've got several buildings that are progressing very well.  Hopefully we will have the whole station playable by the end of the month.  This is Klancy's General Store.

you can find more info about the spaceport project and future projects related to this project in this blog post:

I keep coming back to this, it's so very very groovy. Someday, honestly, the piles of mushroom-boxes and clothes-pegs in my loft (I have no hair-rollers sadly) will be, well, grey and/or rusty mushroom-boxes and clothes pegs... and maybe razor handles and old deoderant containers too...
