battle for Anbaba commences
« on: 04 November 2010, 01:27:57 AM »
The other day hostilities in the East African country of Soeliland flared up again; now the battle for the coastal town of Anbaba has begun.

As always, the government's air force has been particularly efficient in killing its own men...

For the whole story, see here: http://dumb-geese-battles-1.webs.com/assault.htm (lots of pics, so might take some time to load).

Turned out to be enjoyable - and due to misplaced Napalm quite exciting - five hours.

These are all variations of a set of paper buildings called "Desert Village" by Christopher Nahler which I bought back in 2006:

From a distance they are quite effective, and being modular they offer countless possibilities for putting them together to larger blocks. They are also very easy to make, so doing a large number of them is not really a problem.

The downside of course is they're paper buildings, and if you look at some close-up shots, it shows; in the heat of the battle we usually forget about that...  :D
