I think it looks too much the same colour. Mabe you can break it up a bit if the terrain pieces are of a different color.

Brilliant Gav. I think the almost monochrome effect is what makes it work so well. Very nicely done  :)

The plan is to keep the natural, dead and ancient parts of the board in the same colours, but the modern and living parts in darker or brighter contrast colours, so they look like invaders, really out of place.

So the Mummies will be in sepia-ish bandages, but the Medjai, the geezers who are out to stop the Mummy, are in dark blue.

The Mummy's Cultists will be in sand coloured robes, so show they are part of the ancient world, but with red accents to hint they are alive and from the modern age.

New poster here, in a very Dr Nick Riviera style "Hi every body".

I'm working on something similar myself but in an urban setting - trying to build something that looks at least a little like these:

Nice looking project.

Welcome aboard.  :)

Could be very cool, be sure and post up your progress.

I've made some progress over the last few weeks.  The campsite is completed and I've got a dozen plastic palm trees glued to bases.  With luck I'll get some pictures posted up tomorrow.

The completed campsite.

Not sure if the tents need a drybrush of sand colour or not.  I wanted them to stand out, but at the moment the colour makes them look maybe too out of place?

Very Nice. I found that masking tape was handy for canvas. I went for a sun bleached look for my tents.

I remember that board, beautiful dig site.

I'll have to try masking tape as canvas texture, I can see how that would work.  Top tip.

Fantastic work.  The terrain is inspired and makes me think straight back to the movie.

Did you decide on which Miniatures to use and the rules?

Just stumbled upon this and I think it is great. I'm planning on starting a Egyptian project based on the Mummy films and this is great inspiration!
I was just wondering what paints were used to do the figure bases?

Sorry about the massive delay in replying, I've been a bit ill.  I'll be back to updating this as I start making progress again.

I've picked up my Mummies now, from West Wind.

Rules will be a version of our Zombies game, which is a simplified version of Legends of the Old West from GW.

Paints wise all the bases were painted Chocolate Brown, then drybrushed with Sand, both from Anita's.

Finally a bit more progress.  The Mummies themselves.  All from the Gothic Horror range by West Wind.

Our teams of adventurers:

The Fezmen

The Soldiers

The Medjai

The Americans

Each of the four teams is trying to complete a ritual and take control of The Mummy, either to take over the world, save the world or just to loot his tomb, fighting their way past the Mummy Priests and each other on the way.

Miniatures from Artizan, Copplestone and Foundry.

Good looking figures.
Am looking forward to reading more about your adventures.
Had to laugh at the first photo of the mummies.
It looked like they are dancing. :)

Now that is an idea for a scenario, can our plucky Heroes win a dance off against the Mummies?
