Excellent work! Really fine stuff there.

Might you be adding any decals or other insignia?

No decals. Final colours will be as per her smaller cousin - black hull, grey upperworks, buff funnel and a tricolour on the tailplane. I may add a brass nameplate on the hull - when I deciode on a name! other than that, I will be adding either a big French tricolout flag or a set of signal flags to the mast (I have fitted a ring and cleats to attach 'ropes' for flags).

If you go for a semi-neutral name, perhaps like Bellerephon, you might also be able to use her for another nationality too by changing flags.

Very, very nice. I love doing this type of kit bashing myself.
Cheers.  :-*

Uprights are from a model boat shop, as is the brass wire I threaded through to make the hand rail.

As I thought. Following up though, whenever I visit model boat shop web sites they always have tons of different sizes and I being a very easily confused individual, can never figure out which scale is correct.

Any help?

The room went suddenly silent, all ears intent on the response...

For stanchions I'd say look at the size, not the scale. Scale is largely irrelevant as they're essentially just poles with holes in, just look for a type you like that stands around halfway/two thirds up your figures.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Well, I have no ship building store in my area, so it is mostly trying to find a good web store which I also have had problems in finding.

Not to worry. Looking forward to the final paint up of this lovely 'nef!

***snippage***

Perhaps this would be a good thing to work up, say, sources and particular things to use, in the 'Where to buy VSF goodies?' sticky.

Still listening.  :D

Well, it taken a lot lojknger than anticipated, but I've finally finished this project, with a whole week to spare before I need to field this baby st Salute!

Presenting the Montagne class aeronef 'Mont Blanc':

and escorted by her little cousin, the Oiseau class aeronef 'Piaf':

I'm looking forward to playing these at Salute. Hopefully they won't get shot down too quickly!
