Nuclear Renaissance Good to go.
« on: September 04, 2007, 02:09:20 PM »
Hey Guys! Hope its Ok to put this up here, Im not a spam bot! Some forum members put up a thread about our models here:
http://forum.backofbeyond.de/viewtopic.php?p=22807&sid=d5a65ed347af9b067644aa7f7eb141e3
So Im just putting up our latest news!

Quote
Ramshackle Games is proud to announce the launch of Nuclear renaissance, our first game.
Its a brand new table top miniatures game, set in a post apocalyptic world of heroes, bandits and mutants. The rules are for skirmish campaigns in a post apocalyptic wasteland. You control a few dudes and their  vehicles then fight it out. Its multiplayer, so 3 or 4 player games work well in the system.

You have alot of freedom when making characters. You can start out with anything from one super uber hero tooled to the nines, or a swarm of maybe fifty stupid goons! Well, then chuck in the transport, bikes, rail cannons, hundreds of skills and abilities and its mayhem all round!

One of the game designers, Gil, studies sword fighting, and so his combat experiences have gone into trying to make the system as realistic as possible without bogging down in mechanics. In the end, it plays quite rapidly, and gives players plenty of scope for awesome clashes.

The game stresses combat and vehicles over fire power. Guns in the future wasteland are difficult to maintain and costly. Better to clart a goon on the noggin or run him over with your giant armoured truck!

If you would like more information please visit our website: http://www.ramshacklegames.co.uk/nuclear/index.html

The rule book is 100 pages in colour, and you can get a copy from our shop
http://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3_5

We already have an expanding range of models available for use in Nuclear Renaissance

I really like some of the vehicles.  I am not keen on the figures yet, but some look like they could be useful for super hero type games.  I would like to here a review on how the rules work.

OK, I've got a couple of questions: how large are the figures and any chance of bigger photos? Some of those minis look really neat.

Models vary in size, but are all 30mm heroic scale, ie 30mm is 6', the average person being 28mm tall. The tallest guy in the world at the moment is 8'5" or 42mm in scale! We dont yet sell any 40mm tall towering leviathans, but they are in production! We also have som quite short dudes, but Danny DeVito is 5'4" in RL or 26mm to scale...

THe heroic bit means that they are not 100% real life proportions, just like your favourite scifi ranges!

Some interesting stuff, but the photos are way too small. You can barely make out any details on some of them...
