As with all your minis that is a lovely paintjob and really does something special to the mini in much the same way as the Shagoth.Excellent warm natural tones  :-*
Your WIP's are very useful for lesstalented painters like myself, many thanks .
May your painting spurt continue forever.

Be'Lakor The Dark Master...

returns....

after two weeks in Barbados.....

I can honestly say thats the first time i've ever seen him painted in anything other than chaos black and drybrushed....

I know you are using that skin tone for most of your chaos army, but the only real problem i foresee is if you paint the Hell Canon that colour....

it could look rather, err... "adult"?

Have one of the Chaos dwarves carrying AA batteires.....

Drybrush........how very dare you use such horrendous language in my presence!

Thanks mate, I aint painting the hellcannon like a dildo, just not happening haha.

I also agree his skin tone is probably a little too dark could have done lightening a little more but he will do for the time being.

Excellent!  A great looking (not-so) Dark Master!  I'd like to see you paint up a Heresy Netherlord.

Apparantely I don't paint my own models according to some guy on CoolMiniorNot.....

http://www.coolminiornot.com/279709

I have asked his comment to be removed as it is rather defamatory

*EDIT*

comments were removed by a CMoN mod
CMoN is a bit of zoo.  I tend to not post my stuff over there much.  There are worse forums though.  What I don't like is people who post unfinished miniatures.  That goes against the spirit of the place to me.  If wanted to see glued together plastic I'd go to some other website I'm sure...  There is more than enough glued together plastic miniatures in the world, I don't need to see them everywhere online too.

Couldn't aggree more old chap: the real problem is that outside of these hallowed pages, the wargaiming world IS a bit of a zoo.. filled with suger fueled 13 year olds who's opinion is THE most important thing in the world to them, and as far as they are concerned, should be to everybody else too.

Back in the good old days, chaps would try and make a name for themselves in the real world, through endevour and deed. These days, the cyber world offers 13 year olds online glory through mis-educated lies and darnright rudeness.

as you can see I went for a really differnet look to the monotone colour scheme this bad boy usually comes in.....but it is such a pretty model why would anyone ever want to buy the plastic demon prince when you can have this sexy beast

Great smooth paint job with excellent colour choices, I really like the effect, well done! I agree with you about the model, but apparently some people actually like the plastic daemon prince model.

Thanks mate, I love the Netherlord I but the new Netherlord II I am not overly keen on.  Their dragon however made me sex wee a little when I first saw the WIP.....thanks for reminding me I need to check if that thing is finished yet.

I post on some of the aforementioned forums but I hope my posting inspires people to strive for better and finish painting a unit.  Probably a sisyphean task but whats life without a little challenge.  My issue with the guy apart from the fact that I gave him ways to investigate his claim was that I use CMoN mainly for selling models (linking ebay auctions through the site gets a lot of traffic and potential bids) and commissions, if I have a mentalist screaming I steal my models and haven't painted them whether true or not it doesn't inspire confidence.  I got told by someone that the guy was a "Troll", a person who goes out of his way to invoke a response and generally annoy others.....strange where I come from we call them "C**ts".

That is sadly true, the internet gives even the craziest people their own personal soap box from which to scream their hate fueled racism/anti-semitist/homophobia/sexism/bigotry from.  Too many pot smoking, World of Warcraft playing virgins with black hair that covers half their face that sit in their rooms masturbating angrily all day to the point their penis looks like a chorizo sausage.  There's a mental image to treasure.

Thanks mate.  Those people that like the plastic daemon prince also spend their days cleaning windows with their tounges so they don't count.

3 times?? You must be real impressed by it then :)

Congrats, but I WANT MORE! :D Your job is a wonderful inspiration source for any chaos player, keep paintin!

Don't worry there is more planned and infact already purchased including the Forgeworld Turmakhan and Toad Dragon.  I have to get a load more done anyway as I have to put on a guest display in Warhammer World in June next year.  At the moment however I am in the middle of painting my Catachan Command Squad for 40k Squad entry into UK Golden Demon this year but it is so very nearly done so expect more on this thread in about 1-2 weeks.  You have my word on that as I am as itching to get back to these as you obviously are to see more :)

Ah, a question: how exactly do you obtain those snow bases? Maybe it was written here or there in the thread but please be patient :D

Don't worry I am a buddhist and a repeat golden demon entrant so I have bags of patience :)

The snow is so very simple......

you need the following:-

Bicarbonate of Soda
PVA Glue
Water

mix all three in roughly equal proportions to make a paste, now the paste needs to be reasonably watery but still quite thick to enable you to "paint" on the mix to what ever it is going on so add water until you are happy but also remember that too much water and you will end up with pva glue that will loose it's sticking quality so remember to add a little pva glue as well if you go too mental on the water.

Then once you are happy with the mix paint it on, and before dry sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda on top to give the appreance of fresh snow.

Small tip - when buying the bicarbonate of soda try to get it quite coarse.  Too powdery and it will look crap.  Personally I use Dr Okoter (or something along those lines)

Same mate, much better than the hideous plastic thing they have brought out

Anytime you want help just shout always happy to provide tips to fellow hobbists where and when I can.  UK Golden Demon is on the 25th September, but I like to have everything finished couple of weeks before.  I find if you rush things like that you inevitably ruin them
