Now if you wanted to be cute, you could inscribe a suitable motto on their colours like 'vai tomar no cu'. Might even stiffen their resolve.
Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

What does the quote mean? I've tried translating it online and it doesn't make sense?

Vai tomar no cu means 'shove it up your arse' or perhaps ' go stick it up your ass' would be the nearest approximation for our  North American friends. The verb tomar has multiple meanings,  although literally it means to take or partake. For example it can be used for drinking or when taking a bath for example.

 I approve!  :D
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

lol I love that. If I ever get around to doing some Portugese troops that will definitely appear somewhere. Maybe get a t-shirt made and wear it to work  :)

Oh the phrase was even the subject of a song that achieved a certain popularity in Brazil ,a few years ago. Funny woman, Cris Nicolotti.
