"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Great looking unit again !   :-*
Think that the yellow piping looks great too - certainly better than mine !
btw must be a record for the 3rd to be on display twice in such short time span  :)

Thanks for the comments guys. Yes, that must be some sort of record Gustav, and even more coincidental since we both appear to hail from Brisbane!

It might even be amusing to pit our 3rd Olivenza regiments against each other in a game lol

Try to put some french infantry mixed with some protuguese in one side and in the other just portuguese and brittish.
The one with the french is forced to fight for napoleon as in real life many where forced.

A good suggestion Rumacara. That would make quite an interesting scenario.

You had the Portuguese Legion fighting for the french with brown uniforms. They where almost wiped out in the retreat from Russia, appart from those who deserted to get back to Portugal.

I remember reading a few paragraphs on that Rumacara (I think perhaps somewhere in Dominic Lieven's "Russia Against Napoleon") and it struck me then how sad it must have been to have been in that contingent with no way of getting home, when one's compatriots are so ably taking the fight to the French in Spain.

Well, after the napoleonic wars many of the foreign troops in Napoleons service couldnt get back to their countries or they would be hang or shot as traitors so some say the Foreign Legion may have started there.
A few imigrated to other countries and started a new life there.
