Fallout: Mayhem in the Mojave at Cold Wars 2011.
« on: January 25, 2011, 07:11:00 PM »
So Cold Wars 2011 is fast approaching and I am running a game featuring the Caesar's Legions and the Kings duking it out for some real estate outside of New Vegas.  I'll have more to show as the con get's closer, but I wanted to leave a little teaser picture.  If folks remember my last little diddy involved a large section of I-95 and a destroyed overpass from Fallout 3. Note:  the below model was built by yours truly and painted by Sabol Studios, they do kick butt work.  Well, enjoy.

Don't worry I've got the posters sorted.   8)

As an aside, here the inspiration.

So where are your Nuka Cola Machines?  I love the nailed boards.  Do you use pins or did you punch out disks for the nail heads?

That garage looks great!  What minis are you planning on using for the legion?

thebluecanary:  The boards are nailed in place with plasticard circles.  I have a little thing that I pound out the circles with a hammer, I got it thing from MicroMark. It's a tedious process, but it looks nice.

Ironblood:  I have 15 legionnaires that are a mix of Warlord Romans and various Hasslefree weapon bits.  Since Hasslefree minis are on the small side, they mesh well with the Warlord models.  I have guys with guns, baseball bats, various pistols, etc.  No heavy weapons as that's not how the Legion rolls.

The garage is in a unfinished state as I have a full interior to go with it.   There is also accompanying signage and gas pumps.

I regret that I am on the wrong continent to attend this game.

I've been playing New Vegas pretty religiously for a week and would love to see a firefight in Helios I

Are you including NCR troops in this game? What are you using for figures?

No plans for NCR troops.  Black Cat Bases have the Securitrons of course, but they also have some models that would work for unarmored NCR Rangers.  Sadly, I have yet to see any troops that would work for NCR regulars.

Check page 5 of the Fallout miniatures sticky - someone suggests WW1 Brits from Westwind, and it is a good fit.

They don't really work for me to be honest as they're a bit to obviously British in look. Lose the pouches and the rifles and you're most the way there though.

So the rest of the terrain has been finished.  The house, the gas station, and the Malt-Tec ice cream shop were all built by me and painted by Sabol Studios, who are very awesome and damned quick.  Accessories are various, but were built by me or bought from Black Cat Bases.  I would say the gas station is my favorite piece.  Enjoy.
