Wheels for trucks
« on: 31 January 2011, 02:38:37 PM »
There's been lots of discussion on how to mkae wheels lately.  I just discovered that McDonalds in the US is doing Tonka trucks this month.  They all have wonderful all-terrain type wheels that canbe removed for scratchbuild projects.  Picked up a few last weekend.  Heads-up for those interested.

This is my boomstick!

Nice, but for those not in the USA (or disliking fast food - are those counted as true wargamers?  lol) you can always try Ramshackle Games: good value for money!

You know, I seem to have noticed lego doing boxes with just wheels now. Maybe those could also have some use? (granted, I haven't looked closer at how realistic they are as I don't need them).

Diameter of any of the wheels would be helpful :)

vehicle bodies would be nice for Dark future etc... just with some more sensibly scaled wheels. So someone gets the wheels someone gets the bodies...everyone's happy! :D

I had the same thought after taking them out of the package.  They might just work for one-man type buggys.  The doors are scaled appropriately but the bodies are a little wacky/wonky.

Lose the chassis and kept the bodyshells, plasticcard floorpan and hotwheels wheels and you're good to go.

Or just post one to me I'll show you...;)
