I really like these. My only criticism is that the fellow in the first picture is holding his Mauser in a most unnatural way. I think the rifle should be turned over so his hand is over or near the trigger guard instead of over the bolt.

Interesting stuff - let me know when these are ready for release and I'll add them to my VBCW website.
Regarding the weapons packs - any plans to do double-barrelled shotguns?

I agree, simply turning the rifle over would look far more natural.. and with far less fumbling when he needs to bring it down to use it. That aside, they are nice looking figures and I'm sure they will be a popular range.

Agreed on the rifle, I couldn't quite figure what it was but that is it. Really like the minis.

I'm really looking forward to this range, especially the vehicles.  The upheavals, in Germany, from 1919-1923 is a very much overlooked, but interesting, period in history....the vehicles, and the figures, will make a fantastic addition for wargaming some great scenarios :)  Is there an updated ETA for the Erhardt?

Oh dear, this will put my finances in a pickle!  Echoing Tannenberg above this is a very interesting but oft overlooked period.  I've been fascinated by it ever since reading Waite's seminal Vanguard of Nazism and look forward to seeing how this range progresses.

I'm especially looking forward to seeing the trucks, actually. I know, not as interesting as the armoured vehicles and such, but there's already a number of era-appropriate armoured vehicles out there but a real shortage of medium/heavy trucks for the late-WW1/immediate post-Great War period.

The Spanish Civil War/early WW2 era is well-supplied with trucks, but not much out there for earlier gaming!

The figures look great too - armed workers could be useful in a variety of situations beyond the post-WW1 revolutions as well.

Dear all,

my apologies for the long silence, I have been away on holiday (in the Heimat) and was a bit out of touch.

The vehicles are being moulded up at the moment and should be available at Salute this year.

Same goes for the models. Martin is sculpting Volkmarine, Spartakists, and Fighters of the Rote Ruhr Armee (Red Army of the Ruhr
), as welll as a light machine gunner (MG 08/15) and ammunition carrier.

The following items should be available at Salute:

  • all of the afore mentioned vehicles
  • Armed Workers/Civilians
  • Volksmarine Sailors
  • Spartakists
  • Fighters of the Red Army of the Ruhr

In addition to this Scheltrum now also make a set of barricades. There are ten individual pieces each approximately 80 mm long, they are made from resin and will probably be sold in set of five random barricades. The barricades themselves are comprised of all the things one would expect to find in an urban environment: doors, pianos, beds, cupboards, desk, dug up copplestones etc.

As well as some of the weapons packs. There is actually a question that cropped up regarding these: what do people prefer? A pack with a mixture of weapons, one of each type, or packs that contain multiples of one type of weapon?

Regards and good gaming,

Karl

I would say make generic packs of multiples armed with rifles and and shotguns, and then specialized mix weapon sets with grenadiers, pistols armed, smgs, Light and heavy MGs
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

You'll be able to order them from the Scheltrum webpage, which is undergoing a major overhaul at the moment because the current one is a bit of a mess, after Salute. You can always contact the owner directly via the email address on the webpage.

Saw this thread and really like the sculpts. Apart from gaming the period intended (agreed it is a fascinating period) a couple of ideas that spring to mind would be to make the German International Brigade up from many of these for Spanish Civil War, and of course an alternate reality VBCW. Any new pictures of the sculpts available?

No update of the website or pre-ordering information. Thoughts on when this might happen?
