Byklabad ~ Indian Mutiny village
« on: March 16, 2011, 02:12:22 PM »
At Vapnartak last month I picked up the Indian Mutiny period houses/ruins/courtyards from Mutineer Miniatures to 'dress' my Indian Mutiny games more convincingly. To break up the tedium of painting British infantry this month ~ only 47 done so far ~ I've painted up the buildings. I also made a small Hindu shrine, using the domed roof from Coritani, Hindu gods from Tiger Miniatures and some artist's foamcore board coated in Basetex.

General view of Byklabad ~ hot bed of Mutiny!

The Hindu shrine showing its scale with a Mutineer building.

Interior detail of the Hindu shrine.

Again, don't be too unkind, my eleven thumbs do their best.  :D

VERY Nice! Like the shrine...Never see anyone do a shrine really, but there are tons of them all over the place in India. Well done.

I like the shade of red, very reminiscent of the buildings of Northern India.

"Hot bed of Mutiny" you can be sure it is.

I shall look forward to defending it against the Imperial devils.

Did you say the Indian gods were from Tiger Miniatures? I didn't see them anywhere on their website.

Hi  :)
From the books i have read on the Indian Mutiny, northern india they describe most small villages were walled with gates for there protection.
This was also described in some of the small action.

Byklabad?

Any reference to that small, quaint, picturesque village just to the east of Newcastle?
