Inspired by Galland to post a project in progress rather than a finished ship, I took a few pictures of the board I'm building for a convention in Kansas City next month. This is not the finished terrain but I will continue to post till complete, or go completely insane. Posting this is more to show myself the project is moving forward as to not become too overwhelmed to finish. The plan is to complete a 28ft x 8ft board with several ports and Pirate like locations or go completely mad, and start posting to the Lovecraft board.

Great looking board :-* :-* :-*
Are you doing it all yourself?
What are you using for the water?
Really like the buildings, are they scratch built or bought?

Hi Wingnut,

The boards are looking good - the three storey half-timber house looks particularly impressive.

Thanks Gents,
Are you doing it all yourself?
Yes, this is a one man outfit. These were about 12 hour days over the weekend.

What are you using for the water?
Florescent light panel covers. I spray paint blotches in two tones of blue on the smooth side then turn the textured side up. They come in 4ft by 2ft sections for about $7 a panel.

Really like the buildings, are they scratch built or bought?
None of the buildings are scratch, the French port consists of Miniature building Authority buildings. The British port has buildings from Brigade games, Games of War and Miniature Building Authority.

That can't be right!! Are you mad?... Or is it a typo? A 28x8ft board or do you mean two 8x8ft boards?

No typo...28 FT by 8Ft or seven 4ft by 8ft tables.
28mm ships are generally 8 to 24 inches long making them hard to maneuver on an 8ft table. The game is being built for a convention setting, truth is I don't have enough room in my house to assemble it all at once. It currently supports about 13 players and will expand to 20 when finished. The pictures only show three of the tables.
