The Grim/NWF Hillfort
« on: 27 April 2011, 08:09:38 AM »
Hi, my first attempt ever at some model building.

"Ho, ho, ho! Well, if it isn't fat stinking billy goat Billy Boy in poison! How art thou, thou globby bottle of cheap, stinking chip oil? Come and get one in the yarbles, if ya have any yarbles, you eunuch jelly thou!"

For a fist build that's very good  8)

With a little bit of greenery on the base and some weathering on the walls you'll have a cracker  :)

cheers

Hi. Thank you.

Yup i intend going back to it and the figures (i'm still painting more troops) and finishing off the basing.

I've drybrushed the walls. What would you suggest for weathering?

Thanks

Thinned down green and brown inks to give the impression of water streaks, but really thin it down, it's better to go over an area than to have to much.

Nice one! I like both the forts. That's going to be a cool table to play on with those two.

Ok i had a go at weathering and added some greenery. I'm not entirely happy with the effect, particularly around the loopholes. My fault - the inks weren't diluted enough i think. I may do a slight dry-brush over to tone them down.

Otherwise its finished except for the varnishing. I'll gloss & then dullcote etc

Thanks

That looks better, a few small patches of green ink going part way up the Walls in the internal corners and you're there  :)

cheers
