no reason to get back to 28mm.
Apart from it being the one true (and god's own) scale. ;)

I can see the benefits of skirmish battling in 15mm. The playing area and scenery is a lot smaller, which is rarely a bad thing. =)

Nice results with the paint brush there - far better than I can achieve on 28mms. A great looking warband - when are they going to see their first action? I too have been slightly bitten by the 15mm bug and SoBH. I have a few packs of figures but don't have the guts (or eyes) to paint them. One day maybe. I think my next scale, in reality, will have to be 54mm just so I can find the blighter on the paint station let alone paint him!

hehe well, I need to build a gaming table and some terrain first AND paint up some enemies  lol. So to be realistic it will still take a month or so before the first battle. I am afraid I will need to solo that one :/

15mm is not that hard to paint if you settle for base colors and maybe just one highlight color. I use magnifying lamp myself and that makes painting ALOT easier. I recommend getting one. I use this one:

My wife got me one exactly like it last week. I'm yet to try it out but it seemed quite allright!

It has been very handy. Still I haven't been able to use the smaller magnifying lens which is integrated to the larger one. My eyes just can't adapt to that.

Hi,

truly gorgeous stuff  :)

Thought myself about Spear & Shield & Cyclops, but settled for 15mm Fantasy instead. For sealing the finished miniatures I use Matt Varnish from Vallejo (70.520). Just paint one layer on the miniature and done. Great stuff.

Those models could easily pass for 28mm, it's a bit of an eye-opener.  Good stuff!

Did you make or buy the spears? My only concern w/ the Splintered Lt minis is the rather poor cast on spears, but making them is such a hassle. Bought some wire to do just that, but it seems harder than brass rod, and near impossible to hammer flat w/ my now-enormous hammer!

 lol

I ordered mine from Xyston. They are made from brass and are very nice!. It seems that right now they don't have any but you could always email them and ask. Better to buy them than to smash your thumb :)
