I know, it's been ages since I posted in this thread, but over the last few weeks, I managed to dig out, strip and finally repaint a bunch of Fantasy figures which had been lingering in my lead mountain for years - indeed, the skeletons are actually the very first 28mm figures I bought back in 1995. Painted them up to go with the rest of the fantasy figures, and maybe will play some skirmish games using the Showdown rules (as the local gaming group really likes those, any I am quite comfortable with the rules mechanisms myself).
First, a little bestiary - some you may have seen before.
A bear by Steve Barber miniatures, originally painted for Old West and Gothic Horror games:

A RAFM metal snake and a Fenryll resin hydra, painted to match the big Hydra I painted in early 2010:

Said large Hydra (took a new photo today):

Some warhounds from the Chronopia range:

An old "Iron Drake" by Grenadier, which I painted a bit more "lizardy":

Moving on to characters, two adventurers - don't know where the archer's from, but the dwarf is from the "Shattered Isles" range currently sold by Black Hat minis:

A bunch of Skeleton warriors, by Heartbreaker. As mentioned, the first figures I bought in 1995, crudely painted then in enamel paint - actually, I didn't manage to strip all the old paint, but enough to make them re-paintable. Went for a very reduced paint scheme of black cloth, with strongly verdigrised bronze armour and arms to make them look a bit more archaic than the steel-weapon-armed adventurers and barbarians.

I also have another warrior and a Necromancer lined up for painting, and an ancient Grenadier figure wearing a lizardskin.
Finally, some terrain. First, a mixed bunch of Grendel fantasy huts which I bought for a ridiculously low price at a convention (less than a Euro apiece):

Wonderful models, those. Very nostalgic in their appeal, and I'd really like to have more of the "barbarian" hut in the centre - I love the stone and tusk construction. Very compact, so they won't take too much tablespace, but still imposing enough to work well with 28s.
And finally, some megaliths made from the resin "coals" I got from Jolly Bob - thanks again, marvellous stuff, easily wetsanded to provide a good footing, then mounted on 2p coins and a 40mm washer (depending on size), and a 4" beer coaster for the sacrificial stone assembly. I've got some more left over and will probably build a large "chieftain's hut" from some, and use the rest to make more megaliths.

Thanks for looking!
