And hopefully the painting slump is broken. :)

Nice.  Good variation in the treatment of the different types of dead flesh and bone.
Back from the dead, almost.

Excellent work, I've still got a load of the citadel Dredd figures which I don't know what to do with.
I go to pieces so fast that people get hit by the shrapnel.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Nice.  Good variation in the treatment of the different types of dead flesh and bone.

Im glad that you liked it as I enjoyed trying to get the look to match my mental images of the Dark Judges.

Presumably due to printing processes, many of the images of Mortis that I had seen tended to colour the bone elements of his armour similarly to his head.

I didnt like that so I went with a smellier looking, somewhat necrotised greenish tint to the bone on his body (his head and his tail).  This followed through a bit to his fleshier parts, which are greener that those of Death and Fear (to follow later).

I figure that Mortis body is wet and stinking like a zombies while Death and Fears bodies are more dried out.

Again, thanks for the feedback :)

 lol go for them!

Didn't read the full thread - and I'm a bit grumpy today because there are so many stupid people (not of any particular political colour, that is not the point, here) making political comments on the internet - without having the slightest clue about the issues they are addressing  :)

I got Fear and Fire finished.

Fear is a repainted, unstripped Heroclix so it caused me all sorts of problems to get it even to level its at now.  The low point of the Dark Judges for sure.

Fire took a couple of attempts as I never tried to paint anything like that before.  I am pleased with how he turned out.  The photos are a little over exposed.

The obligatory group shot.  "The crime isss life, the sentenccce isss death!" etc

More details on the Dark Judges on my blog and the Dredd project so far here.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Judge Fear looks very good next to the Foundry ones.

The 'clix and the later Foundry figures were sculpted by the same guy, Tim Prow.  I think that he got the Foundry gig because he had sculpted the 2000AD 'clix.

,iam still searching for 28mm Bear Traps for mine  ::)

lol  I hadnt thought of making up any traps for Fear, but now I want to do it.

I once saw some bear traps that a guy had made using pairs of the armoured jaw pieces from 40K ork miniatures (the Iron Gob bits).  They might be an easy option.

Never been a fan of these figures but the painting job is great!

The sculpting style isnt my favourite either, thats for sure.  The range is grossly distorted in places although in the case of the Dark Judges that is less of a problem I think.  Anyway, with only a few sources of Dredd figures out there I cant afford to be too choosy really :)

Some of the new Mongoose Dredd figures are quite nice, much better than some of their earlier stuff or the Foundry figures.

Again, thanks for the feedback.
