joroas,

I am using mostly the Dixon's with quite a few Essex and Freikorps, some Irregular (bought long before they started their IM range).  Lots of elephants.  Lots!

Are these the Essex Crimean range?  How do they look?

Who makes the palm trees seen in those pictures? Those are very nice. I ordered the rules from the Caliver website on Saturday; hope they arrive soon.

The palm trees are 'novelty' pens I bought on Fiji in a gift shop. Andy at The Last Valley painted and based them for me. A long way to go if you wanted to buy any I fear.... ;)

PS Thanks for buying a set of the rules! :)

joroas,

Didn't buy any Essex Crimean range so I cannot speak to that, some from the colonial ranges - a little late for the era but at the time I bought them they were one option available amongst few.  Mostly it was figures from the Moghul range for the allied armies of the Mutineers.

Just bought some 15mm Minifigs from Caliver, a little dated but they have Highland command and staff officers.

I had a tour of the Minifigs 'production unit' at Caliver on Tuesday. I've never seen so many moulds in my life and DR said less than half of them were there. They are selling really well I guess, as the casting chap was but a blur he was so busy.

Dixons have elephant troop carriers, carts and pack camels for your baggage train, but I have also found a water wagon from Museum Miniatures:

http://www.museumminiatures.co.uk/pages/prod_equipment.html

WG16 Barrel Cart  (Sld Wheels)  £2.50 each and postage on two was only a £1.

So no thirsty British............  :D
